After working as a financial director in my own furniture manufacturing business for 10 years I had an enforced career change due to a factory fire.
I then embarked on financial services, initially working as an adviser for Canada Life. I quickly moved on to running my own business after becoming disillusioned with how large Insurance companies failed to look after their clients.
I have forged client relationships that are still in place today, so I have wealth of experience in building clients’ retirement and investment plans, maintaining them, and delivering on expectations to provide the financial security they seek in retirement. This is the most rewarding part of my career and one that keeps me highly motivated.
When I am not working, I enjoy family time with my wife Michelle, who has also been involved in the business for many years, my son Philip, also an adviser within the business, my older daughter Charlotte, and my youngest daughter Lily. We also have a family dog Oakley, whom we all enjoy walking in the Peak District. I am also a scuba diving instructor and have taught my two oldest children to dive.
